Redondo Beach - Luxury Homes Report

Redondo Beach is one of three coastal cities in the South Bay of Los Angeles commonly referred to as "The Beach Cities" by the locals.  The majority of the homes in Redondo do not fall into the luxury (over 2M) price range, but there are pockets along the coast or in the hills with spectacular ocean view that do command prices well into the luxury range.

Redondo is adjacent to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Hermosa Beach, both prime luxury markets in the South Bay. Below is an update on luxury homes sales and current listings in the Redondo Beach luxury home market:
  • 4 Redondo Beach luxury homes are currently for sale ranging in price from $2,550,000 to $14,250,000.
  • No Redondo Beach luxury homes are currently in escrow with an accepted offer.
  • 5 Redondo Beach luxury homes sold YTD 2013 ranging from $2,000,000 to $4,150,000.

Hermosa Beach Luxury Home Market Report for October 2013

The Hermosa Beach strand

If you're looking for the laid-back lifestyle and a more relaxed pace of daily life but still want to be close to the urban amenities of Los Angeles, it may be time to check out Hermosa Beach. Hermosa is the smallest of the three beach cities that hug the coastline in L.A.'s South Bay neighborhoods. There are only so many oceanfront and ocean view homes along the coast.

Hermosa Beach, with its gentle hills, lays claim to not only a long stretch of oceanfront but a myriad of ocean views from the cooperating topography. Sandwiched between Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach, Hermosa's location offers a short commute to Los Angeles or you can cruise down Pacific Coast Highway to the low density area of Palos Verdes for a day of hiking or lunch at Terranea Resort. I'm a fan of both.

Hermosa Beach luxury home market report for October 2013:
 1) Two Hermosa Beach luxury homes priced over $2,000,000 sold during September 2013.
 2) Three Hermosa Beach luxury homes are in escrow with accepted offers.
 3) Seven Hermosa Beach luxury homes are currently for sale.

Coastal Cleanup Day 2013 - Sat 9/21

Coastal Cleanup Day 2013 is this coming weekend on Saturday 9/21/2013. Heal the Bay's annual event is the "biggest volunteer day on the planet" and last years turnout was over 62,000. They hauled away over 700,000 pounds of trash and 140,000 pounds of recycling items.

Local meeting sites range from Malibu to Long Beach. Palos Verdes sites will be at Malaga Cove (Via Arroyo/Paseo Del Mar) and Abalone Cove. The beach cities will have many locations including the Manhattan Beach Pier, Hermosa Pier, Redondo Pier (end of Torrance Blvd) and King Harbor at the Port Royal Yacht Club. The cleanup even includes the beaches, dive locations, drain ways and some parks. Participation waivers, flyers and fundraising info is available on the Heal the Bay's information pages.

Hermosa Beach Luxury Homes Report for August 2013

Hermosa Beach luxury homes enjoyed a hot summer market. The coastal city posted five luxury home sales for the month of August 2013. The top price paid for a Hermosa luxury home during August was $5,250,000 for 41 16th Street. I showed the walk street property, and the beach is half a block away. It's a great example of Hermosa Beach lifestyle at its best.

There are currently six Hermosa Beach luxury homes priced over $2,000,000 for sale and three luxury homes in the price category with accepted offer and in escrow.

If you're interested in purchasing a Hermosa Beach luxury home contact Norma Toering & Team to arrange a private showing of luxury homes currently for sale.
